Forest officials in Palghar are actively searching for a leopard that recently attacked two brothers in separate incidents. The first attack occurred when a laborer ventured into a yard to investigate the source of barking dogs. Despite the leopard lunging at him, he managed to escape with bite marks. Later that evening, the same leopard injured the victim's brother near a steel buffing unit. Despite efforts by a crowd of around 200 people, the leopard managed to escape. The Forest Department has provided monetary compensation to the injured individuals and raised awareness among locals to avoid solitary outings after 6 pm. They have also deployed camera traps and other methods to capture the elusive leopard and ensure the safety of the community.
